I graduated from East Carolina University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics; I am currently working towards my Master's Degree from Holy Family University in order to become a Principal. This will be my 10th year teaching, but only my second year at First Philly! Before coming to Philadelphia, I taught 5th grade in North Carolina for 4 and a half years, before that I taught reading and math 3rd through 5th grade in Bristol Township School District for 2 years, and before I received any teaching positions I was a building substitute in Pennsbury School District for 2 years. I guess you could say I'm a pro at moving!
I got married to my husband, Mr. Hultquist, in July of 2013 and we are expecting our first child in December. I have two dogs, one Siberian Husky named Nika and one White German Shepherd named Fleury. They love to play together and drive me crazy! The picture below is how our dogs announced our big news!
I am a huge sports fan especially when it comes to my East Carolina Pirates! I love to watch football, baseball and ice hockey whenever I get a chance. I particularly love to go to live sporting events. I don't have much free time because after school I coach gymnastics three days a week and go to class. When I get a chance I love to spend time with my husband, Mr. Hultquist and my two dogs.
